Since it’s so close to Halloween, I thought it’d be nice to address the whole “witch” thing about my personality. Those of you who follow me on Instagram know that I practice some light “witchcraft” in my day-to-day life, and a lot of you have assumed that I’m Wiccan. I’m not.
I’m a Christian.
Yep. I believe in one true God, and I believe Jesus is my Savior.
So why do I sometimes create magic…?
Magic = Elaborate Prayers
I started doing witchcraft after my suicide attempt in 2014. But I don’t really see it as legitimate witchcraft, so much as elaborate prayers. When I do my “magic,” I’m actually praying to God — not to multiple gods or other occult figures. (more…)
I was just given permission to “out” myself as the ghostwriter for one of the businesses I’m working for and I’m really excited to share it with you!
I’ve been writing ALL of the blog posts (from Sept. 17th onward) for Fab Fit Travel!
This place is super cool. They basically put together destination vacations that include a workout itinerary. So you can look upon amazing scenery while you get in shape!
And you might be thinking: “Lauren…aren’t you a bit out of shape to be the ‘voice’ of a fitness company?” Well, Jimmy, here are a few reasons why you’re wrong: (more…)
I’ve mentioned before how much vaping has helped to calm my anxiety, but I haven’t really made an in-depth post about vaping here before.
Yesterday, I got myself a new mod. It’s the one on the left in the picture above. It’s a hot pink iStick Pico with a Baijiada Mermaid tank (which uses Herakles Plus coils). My old mod, on the right, was also an iStick Pico but it had an original Herakles tank. My old mod was fantastic, but I love my new mod — I customized it to really suit me. Hot pink is one of my two favorite colors and the new tank is much lighter weight than my old one (and the new coils deliver even more flavor).
I’m a huge fan of vaping. I even have a vape t-shirt: (more…)
In my last post, I reviewed some products from Be a Bombshell Cosmetics.
After my review, their rep said that they were going to send me some more items, based on my comments and complaints. And, boy! Did they ever!!
In my original review, I pretty much adored everything they sent me except for their lip products. I didn’t like that their lip stuff (lipstick/lip liner/lip gloss) didn’t last. So they sent me two tubes of their “lasting” lip colors.
I also mentioned that I had applied most of my makeup with my fingers since I didn’t own any brushes… And they sent me an entire brush set!
I also mentioned that I was using Maybelline foundation for my face and that I didn’t own any primer or concealer. Well, they sent me primer, concealer, foundation, and powder!
And as kind of a one-off comment in my original review, I mentioned that I usually use shades of brown for my eyeshadows…and they sent me a nudes eyeshadow palette! (more…)
After the review I did on my new glasses, I was approached by Be a Bombshell Cosmetics to review some of their products. I was very excited to do so! They apparently specialize in bold colors for sensitive skin. And, heck! I like bold colors. And I have sensitive skin! Seemed like a perfect match! 😀
Plus, as I mentioned last time, I’ve been trying to up my makeup game lately.
It’s only been this past year or so that I’ve really started to wear makeup and so I’m still a bit of a noob. I only got my first liquid eyeliner about a week or so ago! I don’t own the fancy brushes that makeup pros have or anything like that. So this review will be coming from the point of view of someone who LOVES makeup, but isn’t really “skilled” with it yet.
Anyway, none of the links on here are affiliate links. And although they gave me a LOT of free makeup, no other money or anything exchanged hands.
Without further ado, here’s my honest review of Be a Bombshell Cosmetics: (more…)
Those of you who follow me on Instagram probably think that all I do is play PC games, vape, and collect Monster High dolls…
But I’ve actually been really busy.
My Instagram is for personal/fun updates. I tend to keep the work stuff to myself. But, since a few of you were curious, here’s what’s been going on in my work life:
I’m the Managing Editor for Be a Freelance Blogger
Be a Freelance Blogger is the leading publication for bloggers looking to go freelance. And I’m in charge of it!
I’m the gal in charge of accepting or rejecting writers’ pitches. And I’m also in charge of making accepted drafts look fabulous once they’re published on the site. I do all of the editing, formatting, choosing the accompanying images, etc. (more…)
A few weeks ago, I was approached by GlassesShop.com and asked if I would do a review of their prescription glasses in exchange for a free pair of eyewear. They’re a shop that sells glasses online and wanted to reach a larger audience — and so they thought of me: since I’m a writer who wears glasses!
I told them that I would accept only if I was allowed to give an HONEST review of the product. They agreed. Their only condition was that I bold their name, and link to their site when I used the terms “glasses” and “glasses online” (which I did in the first paragraph).
I’ve never done a review like this before, so bear with me. I want to be as thorough as possible. And, although I did receive a free pair of prescription eyeglasses, that was the only thing I got from the company in question — no other payments exchanged hands, and this blog post contains no affiliate links. After two years of playing Dungeons and Dragons through Godwin’s Games, I played my “final” game last night.
Six months ago, I was made the DM (Dungeon Master) and I ran a really wild campaign filled with mysteries and sci-fi elements. It was incredibly fun and really stretched my imagination as a writer.
However, due to the group’s work and school schedules, finding time to play games became nearly impossible — so I decided that it was time to set the boys free. At least for now. (I ended the game on a cliffhanger in case we ever have time/want to start up the game again). (more…)
Today’s a big day on my business blog, LittleZotz Writing — I’m celebrating my six year anniversary of being in business!
Six years ago, I was out of work and out of money. But, on August 17th of 2010, I decided I would finally stop writing as a side job/hobby and give freelance writing a real go of it. This was the day I opened LittleZotz Writing.
Since then, I’ve written for several small businesses blogs. I was able to make freelance writing and editing my sole source of income.
I’ve written hundreds of blog posts on my site, written several e-books, and won multiple awards. (more…)
I have big, glorious news today!
I’m now the Managing Editor of Be A Freelance Blogger!
For the past three years, I’ve been working as BAFB’s Pitching Editor (and community manager); however, today, I was promoted! I’m now one rung below the owner, Sophie Lizard. So, basically: I’m in charge of pretty much everything at BAFB now. (more…)
