Hi, Everyone!

If you’ve been keeping up with my last two entries, you know that I’ve been struggling with my health — and that I was waiting to hear back from the doctors about whether or not I have cancer…

GOOD NEWS: I don’t have cancer!

All the test results came back negative. I have zero cancer! Woop woop!! I’m THRILLED about that.

Now, I just need to ditch the anemia and shrink the fibroids in my uterus, and I should be back up to snuff. 🙂

I’m very tired right now because, despite the doctors’ best efforts to stop it, I’m on my period. And, as usual, it’s a bit of a nightmare. I won’t give you all the gory details, but my period is pretty much the WORST. I was literally bleeding to death (hence the severe anemia) because it’s SUPER heavy and lasts for extended periods of time (my last one flowed for three weeks!).

The docs tried to halt my period for a month in order to give my body time to rebuild my red blood cells and give my body a break, but my period is a tenacious bugger and decided to come anyway. Ugh. So I’ve been feeling pretty crappy this week and have been spending a lot of time sleeping, and putting heat packs on my lower abdomen, despite the hundred-degree heat spell here in Los Angeles.

On the plus side, I think my fibroids MUST be shrinking, thanks to the meds I’ve been taking, because I was able to drink a full glass of lemonade the other day and not have a bathroom emergency! Hooray!! (My largest fibroid is pressing right into my bladder and was making me have to “go” at an alarming rate).

For the most part, I’ve been feeling a lot better lately. I haven’t had any fainting spells in weeks, so I think my anemia is slowly getting under control, and, so long as my period actually STOPS this time, I think I’m on my way toward good health.

Speaking of good health: I got hired by Fab Fit Travel again!

Fab Fit Travel rehired me, after briefly parting ways last December, to sponsor my fitness journey and have me record my progress. They’ve bought me a gym membership and I’ll be starting my first day next week. I might be able to go only once or twice a week at first due to my health issues, but ANY start is a good start when it comes to getting fit.

Things are also heating up over at LaurenVapes.com! I have a battery charger, a new tank, eight mods, and 35 vape juices to review. WHEW!!

And, of course, I’m still the Managing Editor of Be a Freelance Blogger AND I’m having a killer mentoring sale over on LittleZotz Writing.

I always have a summer mentoring sale from when the weather first starts heating up to the anniversary of my business’ opening (August 17th), and this year is no different. What IS different is that my sale price this year is OUTRAGEOUSLY LOW! You can now get TWO HOURS of my time for $35! Normally, I charge $97 per hour, so that’s a CRAZY deal. 😀

If you’re a writer or editor — especially one who’s interested in blogging — then I can help guide you on the path toward a freelancing career. I’ve mentored literally hundreds of students at this point and, I gotta admit, I’m pretty good at it.

Anyway, I guess that’s it for now. I have some work I need to get done and then I’m hanging out and eating pizza (or some other junk food of choice) later tonight.

Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Until next time,
Lauren*

  1. It’s great to hear that you don’t have cancer, Lauren! I hope the fibroids clear up quickly for you since that must be a nightmare! I’m also hoping your period doesn’t last as long as they have in the past. I feel your pain!

    • Thanks, Lizzie!

They’re going to be testing me every three months to see if the fibroid treatment is working. Cross fingers! I’m also supposed to lose 20-50lbs by December so they can insert an IUD in me and stop my period for a while (5 years!!) so that I don’t keep bleeding myself into anemia.
